Mrs. Nancy Brown Dies at Cookville Friday Afternoon

Services Are Held Saturday 3:00 p. m. for Aged Resident

Mrs. Nancy Caroline Brown passed away at her home in Cookville Friday afternoon at 6:00 o'clock from the effects of a heart ailment. She was in apparent good health the day before her death, which was a shock to her many friends at Cookville.

Deceased was born in Alabama, but had resided at Cookville for approximately 55 years. She was 84 years of age at the time of her passing. She had no children, but had reared two grand-nieces, Mrs. Doris Roberts, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Lofton Bellamy, of Fort Worth. She leaves three step-sons, Jess Brown of Mt. Pleasant, J. H. Brown of Cookville and Lee Brown of Maud. Also a brother, Art Reynolds of Cookville and a brother and sister in Alabama.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock under direction of Rev. Earl Dale, with interment at the Cookville cemetery.

Arthur Reynolds Sr.

Mount Pleasant, Texas, July 6. - Arthur Reynolds Sr. of Cookville, known to his many friends as "Uncle Art", died at his home Tuesday. He was eighty-four.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Arthur Reynolds Jr. of Chillicothe, Victor Reynolds of Nocona, Orbie Reynolds of Terrell and Neil Reynolds of Sanger, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Emma Mathoon and Mrs. Kate St. Clair, both of Dallas, and Mrs. Pearl Ledbetter of Blossom.

Joe Dugan Reynolds

Joe Dugan Reynolds, 64, died Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the Mt. Pleasant Hospital and Clinic. Mr. Reynolds was born April 10, 1909 and at the time of his death was a resident of 1233 Hubbard St., in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include his widow, Sally Reynolds; six daughters: Mrs. Reva Joe Barrett of Texarkana, Ark.; Gladys Reynolds of Cookville; Ima Jean McKenzie of Caddo Mills; Vickie Faye Dugg of Winnsboro; Kathleen Swaim and Patricia Diane Reynolds both of Mt. Pleasant. Six sons: Staff Sgt. Larry Joe Reynolds of Arlington, Tex.; Ricky Dale, and Billy Wayne all of Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Bates Chapel with burial in Old Union Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pall bearers.

Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Mamie Gaston, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Cora Reynolds of Corsicana; Mrs. Georgia Combs of Itasca; Mrs. Minnie Long of Athens. Three brothers: Albert Reynolds of Fouke, Ark.; Bill Reynolds of Roane, Tex.; and David Reynolds of Corsicana.

Survivors of Mr. Joe Dugan Reynolds who died Wednesday morning included a daughter, Mrs. Faye Duff and three sons: J.D. Reynolds, Jimmy Reynolds and Jerry Reynolds also 22 grandchildren. These names were omitted in Thursday's report of these in the Tribune.

COOKVILLE – Hulen Reynolds, 75, of Cookville died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997 at Titus Regional Medical Center. Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 1997 at Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Madison and Bruce Prindle officiating. Interment was in Lone Star Cemetery.

Mr. Reynolds was born Friday, July 28, 1922 in Titus County. He retired as a mechanic from Red River Army Depot in 1981. He attended First Baptist Church of Cookville where he served as the church treasurer for 25 years and taught the Men's Sunday School Class for several years. He was a veteran of World War II, receiving a Purple Heart for injury in Europe. Mr. Reynolds was a lifetime member of the VFW in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include wife Gertrue Derrick Reynolds of Cookville; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Brenda Reynolds of Cookville; son Neal Reynolds of Cookville; son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Julie Reynolds of Cookville; grandson Adam Reynolds of Cookville; granddaughters, Marci, Ashleigh and Amber Reynolds of Cookville; sister Lena Blagg Walker of Mount Pleasant; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker Reynolds and Sallie (Meele) Reynolds; two brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Research or Cypess Basin Hospice.

Sallie Loretta Dawson Reynolds, 72, of Mount Pleasant died Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 at Titus Regional Medical Center.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 22 at Bates-Cooper-Robison Chapel. Officiating was Br. Bill Hardy and Bro. James Bell. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Reynolds was born on Oct. 19, 1925 to Arthur Eugene Lee Dawson and Effie Durah Jones Dawson, in Lone Oak. She married Joe Duagan Reynolds on May 30, 1943 in Mount Pleasant. He died on March 9, 1974 in Mount Pleasant. A seamstress, Mrs. Reynolds was employed by Mount Pleasant Sewing Factory.

Survivors include sons, Larry Joe Reynolds of Pittsburg, J.D. Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, James Robert Reynolds of Daingerfield, Jerry Don Reynolds of Winnsboro, Ricky Dale Reynolds of Leesburg, Billy Wayne Reynolds of Daingerfield; daughters, Kathleen (Reynolds) Beggs of Naples, Vickie Faye (Reynolds) Weatherhead of Naples and Patricia Diane Reynolds of Mount Pleasant; step-daughters, Ima Jean (Reynolds) McKenzie of Commerce, Ella Reba (Reynolds) Barrett of Mount Pleasant and Gladys Lorain Reynolds of Mount Pleasant; sisters, Lillian Delpha (Dawson) Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, Jossie Elizabeth (Dawson) Casey of Oklahoma and Margaret Joe Dawson of Commerce; brother Billy Joe Dawson of Commerce; 33 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and numbeous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Duagan Reynolds, son Argle Lee Reynolds and brothers, Arthur Eugene Lee Dawson, Jr. and Vernon Stanley Dawson.

Lillian Reynolds, 74, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at Titus County Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17 at Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home with Bro. James Bell officiating. Interment will be in Old Union Cemetery

Mrs. Reynolds was born July 16, 1923 in Lone Oak. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include husband Ollis Reynolds of Mount Pleasant; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Rebecca Reynolds of Bonham, Bobby and Brenda Reynolds of Mount Pleasant; sister Josie Casey of Oklahoma, another sister of Greenville; brother Billy Joe Dawson of Greenville; grandchildren Billy Bob and Laura Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, Billy Brandon Reynolds of Bonham, Bobby Shane Reynolds of Mount Pleasant, Russell Leon and Shondi Reynolds of Wisconsin; great grandchildren Kyla, Abril, Dakota, Chandos Reynolds; Step grandchild Aaron Farley; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
NOTE: Lillian Delpha (Dawson) Reynolds was the wife of Ollis Leon Reynolds. She was also the sister to my Mother and the wife of my Father's first cousin

James Pat Reynolds Sr., 70, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998 in Mount Pleasant.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 at Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jamie Duncan and Bob Madison officiated. Interment was at Center Grove Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Reynolds was born Nov. 4, 1927 in Titus County, the son of Thad Reynolds and Jewell (Goodwin) Reynolds. He served in the Army in World War II and was a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife Gladys Reynolds of Mount Pleasant; sons James Pat Reynolds Jr. of Bonham and Orville Reynolds of Cookville; daughters Sandi Thomas of Pittsburg, Sandra Meadows of Mount Pleasant and Wanda Caraway of Alabama; brothers Thad Reynolds Jr. of Arkansas, Billy Reynolds and Roy Ned Reynolds, both of Cookville; sisters Tribah Carpenter and Linda Carol Hale, both of Cookville; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Windell Ray Reynolds and W. C. "Dub" Reynolds.
NOTE: James Pat Reynolds was not only my first cousin, but also my brother-in-law.

MOUNT VERNON - Alma J. Reynolds, 97, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998 at East Texas Medical Center in Mount Vernon.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. L.C. Jones officiated. Interment was at Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers were members of the family.

Mrs. Reynolds was born March 7, 1901 in Missouri, the daughter of Charlie Luallen and Maggie Raney. She was a member of the Center Grove Church of Franklin County for 66 years.

She is survived by her grandson Jackie Reynolds of Tyler, one great granddaughter; sister Georgie Burkhead of Forth; niece Lorene Collins of Mount Vernon; a host of other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Reynolds; son, Norman Reynolds; brother, Sam Luallen, and her parents.

Patsy Martin

NAPLES, Texas - Patsy Reynolds Martin, 63, of Naples died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, in a Tyler, Texas, hospital.

Mrs. Martin was born April 22, 1936, in Santa Anna, Texas. |She was retired from Morris County Sheriff's Department and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvelle H. Martin.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Martin McIntosh of Naples; one son, James Martin of Naples; one sister, Peggy Penn of Sweetwater, Texas; one brother, Bobby Reynolds of Springtown, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jetton McIntosh, Patrick Mayhaw and Holly Martin of Naples.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Naples Cemetery with the Rev. Lanny Peek officiating. Burial will be under direction of Alexander Funeral Home. The family will be at their home.
